East Bloomfield Mourns the Passing of James Weisbeck

EAST BLOOMFIELD, N.Y. — The East Bloomfield community is mourning the loss of longtime resident James Weisbeck, 88, who tragically died in a vehicle crash on Saturday afternoon.

According to the Ontario County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a report of a serious crash along Gauss Road shortly before 1:30 p.m. Investigators say Weisbeck was driving a Tesla Model 3 westbound when the vehicle left the roadway for reasons still under investigation, ultimately striking a tree. Emergency responders pronounced him deceased at the scene.

Weisbeck was a familiar figure in East Bloomfield, known for his long-standing presence in the community and the many connections he formed over nearly nine decades. Neighbors and friends remember him for his warmth, quiet presence, and the countless stories, lessons, and memories he shared with those around him.
