Jayden Nelson Death: Early Morning Hit-and-Run

Authorities in Clermont County are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that occurred early Sunday morning, and they are asking for the public’s help in identifying the vehicle involved.

According to a statement from the Ohio State Highway Patrol Batavia Post, the incident took place around 4 a.m. along Bethel-New Richmond Road, east of U.S. 52 in Ohio Township. When troopers arrived, they discovered an unresponsive person in the roadway. Tragically, the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The pedestrian has since been identified as 19-year-old Jayden Nelson. Investigators believe he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene before emergency crews arrived. At this time, authorities have not been able to identify the vehicle involved in the crash. They are continuing to examine evidence from the roadway and surrounding areas as they work to determine the details of the incident.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol has stated that the crash remains under active investigation. Troopers are reviewing available information and following leads to help identify the driver and vehicle responsible.

Authorities are urging anyone who may have witnessed anything around the time of the crash to come forward. Anyone who saw a vehicle traveling along Bethel-New Richmond Road early Sunday morning or who has any relevant information is encouraged to contact the Batavia Post. Community cooperation, officials say, can be crucial in helping investigators piece together the events of the incident and bring those responsible to justice.

As the investigation unfolds, residents in the area are left seeking answers, hoping for accountability and for the driver responsible to be identified. With authorities now asking for tips, the question remains: can information from the community help authorities track down the driver involved in this tragic hit-and-run?
